FSI Calculator

This floor space index (FSI) calculator can easily calculate the fsi of your existing building.

The floor space index, or F.S.I., is the ratio of the total floor area, including all walls on all floors, to the area of the land or plot on which the structure stands. It’s also known as F.A.R. (floor area ratio) in various cities.

The local government authority determines the F.S.I value of the building, which may differ for different locations and buildings around the city.

    • Hello Deepti,

FSI regulation of particular state is based on many factors such as type of building, the zone in which your plot/ area is located, etc. It is issued by town planning department/ municipal corporation department.
In Ahmedabad (Gujarat), top locations have maximum fsi value of 1.2, but it can be extended to 1.8 via premium fsi, by paying some additional fees to competent authorities.
The rules of FSI regulation changes when new state law has been issued. I would suggest you to check the current fsi value in your location by addressing the competent authority or any nearby builder or contractor.
